The European project esdi-net+ has investigated the existence of spatial data infrastructures on sub-national level in Europe and evaluated those infrastructures. They are published in a public SDI Database that is now available online at http://www.esdinetplus.eu/best_practice/database.html.
This database contains many entries of SDIs that are approved by the SDI owners and submitted by the national points of contacts in the required format. AGISEE members have published their SDIs as well; they are from Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Turkey.
The database allows new SDIs to submit their data online. The Online Registration Form is available at http://www.esdinetplus.eu/best_practice/register.html. We encourage you to also submit your SDI into this database, which would give you many new contacts and others might contact you for future cooperation.

The Vesta-GIS site is a training Course Catalogue, where the information about relevant courses and other training contents delivered by the network partners (course metadata, collected according with a standard template) are gathered and made available through an on-line searchable database. In particular, the VESTA-GIS course catalogue represents a chance for educational institutions to reuse quite specialized tailored courses, by making them visible to a pan-European GI-public. From a user perspective, seekers of vocational GI-education might find specialized offers that match their needs even better than expected.

The NSDI and INSPIRE Day is organized for the second time, encouraged by the great interest on the first such event last year. We see the need for the promotion of the knowledge on spatial data infrastructure, at national and European level, the need to gather the representatives of the institutions, subjects of the NSDI with idea to speed up the implementation of SDI in Croatia and to develop the geo-enabled society.
The Croatian Cartographic Society by organizing it's conference together with the State Geodetic Administration for the second time wants to contribute to the development of geoinfromatics, cartography, geography and related fields. This time the emphasis is on spatial data infrastructure which will change understanding of character, importance and use of spatial data.

The INSPIRE Conference 2011 will take place from 27th June to 1st July 2011 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The theme of this year's edition is "INSPIREd by 2020 - Contributing to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth". In 2010, the European Union renewed its commitment to 'knowledge-based' sustainable development by putting forward three mutually reinforcing priorities in the Europe 2020 Strategy. This edition of the INSPIRE Conference offers an opportunity to explore INSPIRE's contribution to Europe's 2020 strategic goals and to root it's further implementation and development in the EU 2020 follow-up programmes.
