Members of the Managing Board were elected
at the Constituent Assembly of the Association for Geospatial Information
in South-East Europe, which took place on October 1, 2004 in Sofia,
Bulgaria.
Ulrich
Boes (Bulgaria), director of URSIT Ltd., has been elected President
of the Association and member of the Managing Board. The other members
of the Managing Board are Raina Pavlova
(Bulgaria), lecturer in Computer Science in the Technical University
of Sofia; Evgenia Karadjova (Bulgaria),
General Manager of ESRI Bulgaria; Georgi
Valev (Bulgaria), lecturer of geodesy at the University of Architecture,
Civil Engineering and Geodesy of Sofia; Miljenko
Lapaine (Croatia), lecturer of geodesy at the University of
Zagreb and President of the Croatian Cartographic Society; Rahmi
Çelik (Turkey), lecturer at the Technical University
of Istanbul; and Florian Petrescu
(Romania), lecturer at the Technical University of Bucharest.
These
personalities have been elected as members of the Managing Board
because of their vast experience in the area and the geographical
region. They participate in the Managing Board as individuals and
do not represent any organization to which they might belong.
